In this role, you will execute a data-driven brand roadmap across roofing underlayments, cap fastening tools, and moisture control systems—mitigating product lifecycle risks and ensuring our field-proven, installer-focused innovations scale seamlessly to meet ambitious residential and commercial growth targets.

Your assignment

The Product Manager – STINGER serves a strategic and commercial partner for National Nail’sSTINGER brand, driving product and portfolio growth across roofing underlayments, cap fastening tools, and moisture control systems. This role executes the brand roadmap and is responsible for driving product lifecycle decisions, contractor engagement, and channel alignment to support continued adoption and relevance in the roofing industry.

Working closely with the product development organization, the STINGER Product Manager ensures that product innovations and enhancements are aligned with jobsite demands, code requirements, and contractor preferences. This individual plays a critical role in advancing STINGER’s position in both residential and commercial roofing by delivering products that are field-proven, installer-focused, and commercially successful.

Essential duties:

  • Execute the product roadmap and lifecycle management for STINGER-branded underlayments, cap fasteners, and tool systems across residential and commercial roofing markets.
  • Drive brand growth by identifying product gaps, developing new product opportunities, and leading cross-functional execution in partnership with product development.
  • Serve as the voice of the roofing contractor, gathering field insights through jobsite visits, trade events, and direct customer interaction to inform roadmap direction and positioning.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure product readiness, technical feasibility, and installation success.
  • Guide competitive analysis, pricing strategy, and promotional planning to maintain and expand STINGER’s market position.
  • Partner with sales, brand, and marketing to develop training materials, merchandising plans, and go-to-market support for product launches.
  • Support continuous improvement of the product portfolio through VOC research, channel feedback, and product performance reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required skills:

  • Strong understanding of roofing systems, underlayment applications, fastener tools, and contractor workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional product initiatives from ideation through launch and ongoing lifecycle management.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sourcing, sales, and marketing.
  • Highly organized and analytical, with the ability to assess product performance, pricing, and cost drivers.
  • Skilled in gathering and applying field-based insights to inform product strategy and development priorities.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to clearly present product concepts, technical details, and business cases to both internal and external audiences.
  • Passion for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to turn vision and strategy into action.

Success criteria:

  • Clear execution of roadmap milestones in partnership with the product development team, delivered on time and aligned with market needs.
  • Tangible growth in STINGER product adoption, sales, and contractor preference, especially in the cap fastening and underlayment categories.
  • Launches of new or enhanced products that meet technical requirements, deliver field performance, and differentiate STINGER in the market.
  • Effective collaboration with engineering team to ensure product readiness, code alignment, and application support.
  • Internal recognition as the strategic leader of the STINGER product line, and external recognition as a trusted resource to contractors and channel partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of product management experience in roofing, fasteners, building materials, or pro tool systems. National brand experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of residential and light commercial roofing applications, especially in the context of moisture management, fastener installation, and underlayment systems.
  • Experience working across wholesale, retail, and STAFDA distribution channels.
  • Familiarity with VOC/VOM research methods and new product commercialization best practices.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM platforms, with experience using dashboarding and analytics tools such as Power BI or Salesforce to support decision-making and product performance tracking.
  • Effective at bridging the gap between technical data and business impact through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% to support contractor engagement, attend industry/trade events, and develop strategic partnerships across regions.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred, due to frequent interaction with a diverse field and installer base.
